|Name of event or initiative:||Spanish Club Tutoring sesh|
Brief overview of the event or initiative:
This tutorial session ran before Spanish oral tests, midterms, and final exams. With multiple native Spanish speakers helping with pronunciation and grammar. This project helped students prep for their classes.
What were the aims of the event or initiative?
This tutorial was organized to reach out to Spanish students and get students more interested in the Spanish language. Organizing study groups and making amusing tutorials.
How did you make it happen?
To make this happen we contacted Spanish lecturers from all levels to promote the event in their classes in case students needed help with their respective assignments or tests. We also contacted the 100level lecturer Carla and she gave us the different test criteria and mock tests she had prepared so we could go through them with the students. We also booked the room where the Spanish class was held so students could stay after the class to attend the tutorial.T
How did you make it better?
In previous years the Spanish Club organized study groups in the library, but this year we contacted lecturers, promoted the event through social media and classes, booked a room, and brought snacks and refreshments so the event was optimal. Overall the event was more organized than it had been in the past.
How did you show your commitment to sustainability?
