Name of event or initiative:Grand Launch
Brief overview of the event or initiative:

The launch of Entré is a social cocktail-style evening with networking, drinks, canapés and speeches from guest speakers. This year we had Brooke Roberts, the founder of Sharesies, as our guest speaker.

What were the aims of the event or initiative?

A wonderful opportunity for our student club members to meet our sponsors and our 2021 executive. It's a great way to bring likeminded people together and start the year with new relationships and a wider network.

How did you make it happen?

We had a great events team on our executive who took charge to organise the entire thing. We had Vino Fino as our sponsors for alcohol and Pulp Kitchen for food catering. It was super efficient and all arrived on time which was very helpful and made for an easier run event. Lunar Intruder, a local Christchurch band, were playing at the front of the event which created a great atmosphere while mingling and later, for dancing. Having such a supportive executive team made the whole event run smoothly and it turned out to be an awesome night.

How did you make it better?

We have run this event every year so to make a difference with it this year we got in contact with an extremely talented entrepreneur Brooke Roberts. It was a huge success with people talking about the event weeks later.

How did you show your commitment to sustainability?

Sustainability was an aspect we were super focused on this year. We incorporated sustainable practices for Grand Launch through using decomposable napkins and no use of plastic cutlery or cups.
