|Which category is this nomination for?||Best Major Event 2021|
|Name of event or initiative:||ENSOC Ball|
|Brief overview of the event or initiative:|
The 2021 ENSOC Ball held at the Middleton Street Substation was a very successful event.
|What were the aims of the event or initiative?|
To bring people together for an enjoyable night with music, drinks and food.
|How did you make it happen?|
Drinks were provided by our sponsor deal with Premium Liquor and the food was organised and prepared by our very own Social Girl Lucy. The 2020 Social Girl provided great guidance as the 2020 Ball was organised last year but could not proceed due to Covid. UCSA was a great help with their grant for transport.
|How did you make it better?|
We reduced the price of tickets to make it more affordable and appealing to students. $20 tickets for a night with food and drink provided is not a passable opportunity which lead to the event selling out in 3 hours. This could be done with our new drinks sponsor and the Social Girl Lucy volunteering herself to make all the food.
|How did you show your commitment to sustainability?|
Transport was provided so everyone commuted there in buses rather than heaps of individual cars. Cans were also used rather than glass bottle for the drinks and the ENSOC committee cleaned top the venue the next morning.
