What was the sponsorship opportunity?Community Law Canterbury Partnership
How was the opportunity integrated into what you were doing?

Due to the relationship we formed with Community Law Canterbury (‘CLC’) through the Prison Education Project we saw an opportunity for growth that would benefit both parties. After several meetings, we agreed that LFC would act as CLC’s face on campus in an effort to increase their presence on campus.
In order to integrate this, we established a CLC Coordinator position on the executive. This person is responsible for maintaining the relationship between the club and CLC, advertising opportunities, organising the annual CLC x LFC Case Competition and attending the volunteer expo as a representative for CLC and LFC.

How did it achieve your goals and the sponsors goals?

When forming this partnership our goal was to assist CLC in building their presence on campus, therefore, boosting their volunteer retention. This would then help us empower students to use their knowledge for the benefit of the community. By hosting the annual LFC x CLC Case Competition we have increased student engagement with CLC and knowledge of the organisation.
By having students advertise volunteering opportunities to students we have helped to increase the number of volunteering applications CLC receives. CLC Employees attend our events and talk to our members, we have seen many people inspired by the work they do.
