|What were your aims for your first year?|
For our first year we hoped to engage with existing korfball players at UC and offer them a number of trainings to attend and some social media content to connect with, with the focus of ramping up the club in 2022. We know that there is a growing number of korfball players finishing highschool each year and that there would be a better chance of success with more players who are already committed. For that reason, we didn't have huge goals for 2021, but rather aimed to get the clubs on its feet and comfortable.
|How did you achieve them?|
After getting a strong exec together, we applied for a UCSA grant for semester one trainings which we were awarded. Being able to offer this and having such a successful clubs day with over 100 sign ups (!!) we got the confidence to up-size our 2021 goals. Most impressively, we were able to enter a UC Korfball team into the Canterbury Winter League, made mainly out of NEW student korfballers! We've run two social events and numerous trainings, have a lively social media presence and plan to run a Term 4 Social League at uni if alert levels allow!
